Murg Do Pyazaa

Ingredients For Chicken Do Pyaza Recipe:

  • 1/2 kg chicken, cut into medium size pieces
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tomato, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder or to taste
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 3/4 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 3 tbsp fresh yogurt
  • 1 big onion, cut into cubes
  • 1 green capsicum, cut into cubes
  • 4 dry red chilies
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • salt to taste

How To Make Chicken Do Pyaza Recipe:

  • Heat a pan with 2 tbsp of oil and add cumin seeds. When they start to crackle add finely chopped onions.
  • Saute on medium flame until they turn into nice golden yellow color.
  • Add ginger garlic paste and saute until the raw smell disappears or the oil separates from the mixture.
  • Add finely chopped or crushed tomatoes and saute until the tomatoes become¬†juicy and soft.
  • Add turmeric powder, coriander powder and turmeric powder . Mix well and saute for few seconds.
  • Add yogurt and mix well.
  • Cook on medium low flame until the oil separates from the mixture.
  • Add washed chicken pieces and mix well.
  • Cook the chicken pieces on medium flame for 5-10 mins.
  • Add 1 cup of water and required quantity of salt.
  • Mix well and cover with a lid and cook on medium low flame until the chicken pieces become tender.
  • In the mean while heat a separate pan with oil and add red chilies, cubed onions and cubed capsicum.
  • Toss on medium flame until they turn into translucent.
  • Now add this onion capsicum into chicken gravy and mix well.
  • Cook on medium flame for further 5 mins. In-between stir gently. So that they don’t burn at the bottom.
  • Finally add garam masala powder and mix it well and check the salt.
  • Switch off the stove and serve hot or warm with rice, biryani, roti,etc…
