Brain Pepper Fry Masala Recipe – Goat (mutton) brain pepper fry is one of the famous non veg recipe in South India. Goat brain cooked with onion, tomato and blend of fresh spices. This mutton brain fry goes well as a side dish with Biryani, Ghee Rice or Sambar.

Goat Brain Masala

Ingredients For Brain Pepper Fry Recipe:

  • 500g goat brain
  • 1 medium size onion, finely chopped
  • 1 medium size tomato, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder or to taste
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 spring curry leaves
  • coriander leaves for garnishing
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • salt to taste

Paste Ingredients:

  • 5 garlic cloves
  • 2″ ginger root
  • 1 tsp peppercorns

How To Make Goat Pepper Fry Recipe:

  • Clean and wash the brain. Add chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, salt and 1/2 cup of water to the brain and cook until done.
  • Cut the cooked brain into bite size pieces and keep aside.
  • Make a paste with ginger, garlic and peppercorns and keep aside.
  • Heat a pan with oil and add chopped onions and curry leaves.
  • Saute on medium flame until they turn into golden brown color.
  • Add chopped tomatoes and mix well.
  • Add ground ginger garlic peppercorn paste and saute until the raw smell disappears or the oil separates from the mixture.
  • Now add cooked mutton brain pieces along with water and mix well.
  • Cook on medium flame until the water evaporates or until your desired consistency.
  • Finally check the salt and add chopped coriander leaves. Mix well and switch off the stove.
  • Serve hot with Chicken Biryani, Chicken Dum Biryani or Sambar.
